I take my code reader and my scanner with me and check all of the codes (KOEO, CM, KOER) and would also do a engine balance test while it is still on the lot before I would drive it off the lot. Then I would run the scanner on it and see what all the sensor values are, but that is just me.

The one I have had low oil pressure and bad rear end bearings when I bough it. I pulled the engine and put new main and connecting rod and rear end bearing in it and it has been running great after I did that. I also replaced the timing chain & water pump while I was at it.
