Sync/iPhone text message problem...solved yet?

Sync/iPhone text message problem...solved yet?
I know lots of us complained when we figured out that when our iPhones connect to the Sync system the text message alerts stopped playing. Has there been any change in that or are we still where we were 2 years ago?

We got a new explorer sport and so I visited an explorer forum that has some Ford reps that respond a lot...
they had a suggestion IIRC that you have to de-pair the phone, re-pair and turn notifications on - (on the phone)2011 - 2013 Ford Explorer In Vehicle Technology (IVT) Sync, MFT - MyFord Touch - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"®

I know this thread is OLD, but if you want Sound Notifications on your IPHONE while Bluetooth with Sync:
Do the Following:
1. Get in your Vehicle and Start it.
2. Wait approximately 5 Seconds for your Phone to Connect Via Bluetooth with Sync.
3. On your IPhone, make sure you are not in the lock screen.
4. Press the Home Button TWO TIMES. (Should be in the Task Bar in the bottom of the screen)
5. Swipe the Task Bar at the bottom to the right until until you pass the Music Controls and You'll have a slider for the Volume. If you are connected to blue tooth, you'll have a house looking icon beside it.
6. Click the House Icon and the phone should display "Iphone" and "SYNC". Pick Iphone.

Your Done. The phone will now send all alert sounds to your phone. If you get a TXT or any notification, your phone speaker will go off. You still can make calls and receive calls through Sync Via the Radio.
You have to do this EVERYTIME your phone connects to sync (aka everytime you start the vehicle.). But it works.
