I have a 2012 explorer limited purchased new. Currently 45,000 miles. Over the past 6 months radio static on the am side has been getting worse. Talked to the local dealer who said they had heard of the problem developing but Ford had no solution.
Anyone else with this issue and/ or suggested fix?

Hi Warndbqe,
Just to clarify, did you visit the dealership for diagnosis or just speak with them about the static? I'll be able to step in and assist once they've taken a look.
Crystal,
I was at the dealership for an oil change on the Explorer and spoke to them. No diagnostic was performed.
I also have a 2015 F350 6.7 diesel and drive the same areas with little to no AM static. The service department said they had heard of the issue and checked but there was no solution. I did not schedule a follow up visit based on the initial response.
I also follow the 6.7 forums and find them informative.
Thank you for the response. I enjoy the explorer but could use a little more acceleration power. The electronic warning systems are terrific and the crash avoidance system saved me from what would have been a very bad experience with a farm tractor that came up on the roadway from the center median without looking. The auto braking had me a fraction of a second further away from the tractor by the time I could hit the brakes. Amazing how big those slow moving vehicle triangles are up close.

Thank you for your interest.
You're welcome, Warndbqe. If you decide to proceed with a diagnostic at some point, give me a shout; I'll be happy to look into some options for you.
