need help!!!

my motor locked up i thing a piston rod broke so i bought a new motor
today.. i have everything removed on my 5.4 but just need to remove tranny
but it wont spin... and i want leave it in not remove it of truck

Take the torque converter out with the engine
haven't done it on one of these but it has been done.
The only other option I can think of is to drop the oil pan and unbolt the broken rod.

You can leave the torque converter bolted to the fly wheel but you may need to remove the radiator support in order to move it all forward enough to get off the input shaft. I know with the TC unbolted from my 5.4L it was a damn tight fit with that support left in. I don't think it would have come with those extra 3"-5" of TC. Biggest thing is you'll have to move the whole engine straight forward those extra inches to get it off.
