could you answer my question?

Tomorrow my brother in law and me are gonna be installing a MSD 6AL box into my pickup, asked a tech on MSD website that if i would have to use the duraspark box for the temp and oil gauges and he said yes because there run off the DS2 box, so how is this gonna work using both boxes im assuming the tach is run off the box as well.

thanks in adavance

Send this member TheKirbyMan a pm or he may chime in. He recently installed an MSD on his truck.

The Duraspark has nothing to do with any gauge other than the tachometer.

I believe Kirby hooked the tach wire to his MSD and it worked correctly. Can not remember fully on that though.

The MSD box should have a female connection that a spade fitting will fit in for a tach signal. I used it on the one I had but it was a non stock, stand alone tach. BTW... I tore out my MSD set up that ran off the DS2 box. The PO had some bad electrical connections that were causing me fits. I went back to all stock and noticed zero performance loss and cured all my electrical problems. The MSD box and MSD coil did nothing for performance in my opinion. Waste of money.
