Earlier today purchased Gabriel proguard shocks for $21.99 apiece from Autozone for the front of my `99. Instant gratification just backing out of driveway from rolling down off side walk to road. Driving on street likewise...even seems to have taken play out of steering wheel. Now I know guys will chime in talking about Bilsteins and such and you get what you pay for, but someone needing new shocks and not having the coin for the good stuff you do what you have to do.Will be replacing rears soon as well and will keep post updated on longevity ( heck I might be posting how much they suck in three months )....but for now it`s all good.
Hey if they do the job, I am gonna tell you I paid the money for Bilsteins and I am not please with them sure they were a little stiffer however I dont think they were worth the price I paid. I am curious to know how long these shocks do last. For 22 bucks if they last a years thats great. I will mention though I paid $55 a peice for rancho's the 5000 series and I am very please with them.

Cool I need new shocks and wasn't looking forward to spending a lot. I'm gonna call today and see if they have them in stock. Thanks
The front definitely absorbs the bumps better now put about 45 miles on today. Might replace the rears this weekend. I`d bet alot of guys would`nt notice if you secretely swapped out their high grade shocks for the cheaper stuff

I think you're probably right, but how long they last is a different story
Then again, sometimes cheap stuff is decent quality, just all depends.
