Monte, seems you're spouting off more than anyone here. And I think you meant rampant instead of ramped in your previous post. Look it up.
Nope sorry...we're ramping up stupidity in america. Everyone graduates, everyone get's a trophy for playing etc. When I was going up 2nd place was the 1st looser. Completely off topic but america is heading down the crapper at the speed of light.
Back on topic...do you only get 60k miles of powertrain warranty with ford? Let me check on the Yukon...
I just stumbled across the thread here. And for someone having a zero brand loyalty and could care less who has what. Your username begs to differ, along with getting your panties in a wad. Your insults aren't necessary bud. If you want to correct someone grow up and correct them leave the insults for the kids.
And to answer the OP. It is more of a matter of opinion and feel, asking a question like that on this forum you are guaranteed to get biased answers. If I were you I would go to a dealership drive an EL then drive a suburban again and see what you like best, what falls better in budget, etc etc. If it was me FORD all the way. My experiences with Chevrolet's were not great probably just short end of the stick but hey to each their own and good luck to which ever you choose.
One thing I've noticed with the 2007+ GM trucks is the poor quality of interior finish. A close friend owns a mobile audio business and I spend quite a bit of time up there. If he has one of these trucks in the bay I'll notice that the soft touch coating on the steering wheel is peeling, the fan/temp buttons are worn to the point where it looks like a clear button (green when illuminated), same with buttons on the head unit. Bolster on drivers seat wears very prematurely.
These may be petty items to some, but they bother the you know what out of me. And to this Monte Carlo guy (no brand loyalty...yeah right), if you want proof go to your nearest dealership and take a look at a used one. I guarantee you will find a prematurely worn interior.
It should also be noted that GM rated their trucks to the SAE tow rating as agreed to by Ford but Ford won't rate theirs till they re-design each model,
I don't believe the SUVs carry an SAE J2807 rating. I know GM released those numbers for the Sierra and Silverado for the 2013 model year, then redacted them when Ford and Ram said they would wait until their new models were introduced. As far as I can find, the full size SUVs never received a J2807 rating. They still have the same ratings they received in 2010.
Also, I'm not sure where you're getting this side pole test information from. According to the NHTSA website both vehicles have five star side impact ratings.
ignorance, stupidity, failure of reading comprehension and illiteracy are also inexcusable but it seems to still run ramped in this forum and America.
If you are going to spout off about how much better your expedition is do it with FACTS not verbal diarrhea that can not be backed up.
The Yukon is rated to pull 8,200 lbs vs the claimed 9,000 of the Expedition, a whole 800 lbs difference. It should also be noted that GM rated their trucks to the SAE tow rating as agreed to by Ford but Ford won't rate theirs till they re-design each model, go figure...
I don't want / need attention, what I would enjoy is fewer stupid posts in this forum and more factual posts.
Let's post another fact...side pole test...Yukon 5 star, Expedition 2 star. Yikes...
This isn't a tech forum dude, chill out!
I went back to the GM site, pulled up the info on the Yukon Denali and guess what? I was wrong. It happens sometimes, I'm human.
However, the OP was more concerned about the Burban vs the Expy EL and the info that I provided was correct based on what Ford and GM are posting on their sites.
Sounds like you are suffering from buyers remorse. Clearly buying the Expy based on price alone was a bad idea. GM's 5 year 100K mile power train warranty is a great selling tool but for a guy like myself who drives less than 15K miles per year, the warranty would time out at around 70K-75K miles. GM wins.

Ramping up stupidity?
America is a proper noun and should be capitalized.
"get's" should be "gets".
Did you mean "going up" or "growing up"?
Oh, and by context I think you meant "loser", not "looser".
GP I saw those two, but I've already made my mind up about looser/loser. If you want to sling mud, make sure you've got your errors corrected beforehand

Again, America gets capitalized.
Now we're ready to get back on topic.
Sorry I don't capitalize america anymore...it's a dump and going down hill fast. At least I have an easy out to another country when it all goes south.
BTW let me know if anything I've posted is not verifiable. Keep in mind Mr. 5,000 lb towing limit when going 4x4 on a Yukon (or suburban) can't even read.
This forum is over run by idiots who seem to know nothing about what they own.
Well I must say that I was totally impressed with my new 07 navigator l this weekend. I previously had a 09 1500 suburban. I towed my 31 foot travel trailer and the navigator blew the suburban out of the water. The air suspension, torque, and over all ride experience was awesome!! I never ever would have thought this would happen, but it did. The suburban was a POS towing my 7500 pound travel trailer!!!! I love my navigator
We just purchased a 2010 Expedition EL 4WD to eventually replace our 2001 GMC Yukon XL 4WD with 248,000 miles on her. We have had a great experience with the Yukon and it has hauled our large family around for years without issue. We purchased the yukon with 70K in 2005 and the only major fix during its life was a transfer case at 130K. Other than that we have driven it all over the country. We didn't trade it in on the new Expy because she is still running strong and I'm going to drive it till it dies.
The reason we started looking at the Expy instead of another Yukon was because in 2007, GM introduced the bulletproof 5.3 with the addition of Active Fuel Management (AFM). This feature shuts off 4 cylinders when in highway cruise mode to increase fuel mileage in the effort to get better than 17mpg out the older 5.3. The problem it created was an oil consumption problem usually showing up at around 60K or more based on how much highway driving was done or how often the AFM featured worked. I had two friends that experienced the issue first hand and both got rid of them quickly. If you Google the issue (GM AFM Issues) you will see post after post of oil consumption issues with the crazy fixes that GM is using to try and fix the problem. There is no reported fix from GM so we decided not to go with another GM product.
I also looked at CarComplaints.com and the Ford Expedition was one of the highest rated vehicles on their site saying that Ford has really stepped it up in the last 5 years. It was then a no brainer (other than getting my wife on board with changing vehicles because she doesn't like change) to go out and get one. We are picking it up on Monday and I'm very excited. Just my two cents on the bigger people haulers...
