I want this TC to be up higher. I cannot reclock the TC according to Advance Adapters. I can bring the engine up but using the stock front CM, I can't drop it any lower.
What will the trucks daily use be? DD pavement mostly, show, work rig, weekend trail truck? Once you figure that out, go the direction needed.
A reinforcement bracket for the frame notch/combo skid plate lets it all stay where it is.
If you plan on wheeling this thing in the woods all the time, then yes ground clearance is what you seek, so its time to mod the floor and raise the engine.
I'd still plate/brace the frame notch (which I am sure you are planning on doing)....
Is there any type of hump in the rear of that crew cab? If there isn't I'd say massage it a little.
And you've got at least 4" of lift on this thing, you're gonna drag a diff before you smack your t-case, unless you go over some really sharp approach angles and end up dragging frame. I'd say massage it an inch or two, then make a skid plate with your new fancy miller
I'd Mod the floor. add another portion of the trans tunnel cover to the back / top of the existing and "Stretch" the current opening. Minimal fuss IMO and with your Fab skills, most likely barely noticeable
Truck will mostly be used on the street but I want to never hesitate sticking it anywhere I want.
The long term goal is drive to Wyoming, whack an elk and bring it back. Would like to do some serious offroading while there. Kinda my dream vacation and the hunt is booked for 2016.
Last year I was out in the middle of nowhere(Wyoming) and all I could think of was having a cool Ford CC to blast around the hills with.
Okie dokie....floor mods sound good but I'm probably going to have to raise the engine with it. Have to wait and see how the angles work out.
One more thing...I appreciate the comments in the bump section from the dent section. Seems you guys are the only one's checking on me. Thanks for keeping me motivated.
