Both me and my father have 2011 crew cab 6.7s. Both trucks have had to get new radiators, trans reprogrammed, and now my egr cooler needs to be replaced a week after my dads was done. Am I looking at more problems down the road?? Are there aftermarket items to install to avoid any further problems?? We both love the trucks and have only driven fords. I hope these trucks don't turn us into Chevy/ram owners. Any advice will help
Ive got 93k on mine and my dads has 65k on his. we do about 75% highway and the rest is around town. Ive towed a small trailer once but other than that neither of us tow or haul big loads. The guy at the shop just said i need a new egr cooler and didnt know much else or what caused it (typical)

Is the truck running bad with a CEL or loosing coolant?
Troy. I was just driving around and the check engine light came on. No problems driving or any other messages. When I took the truck in the cel was off. I left it at the dealership and they called me that the egr cooler needs to be replaced. I am really aggravated about the amount of money I've had to put into a truck that isn't even 2 years old yet. Won't have the truck till Friday
Cford The erg cooler is covered in the 100K mile warranty. wish the radiator was but thats not part of power train (dont know how) and it will run about $2700
Just the radiator is about 500 dollars, brother in laws co worker put a drill bit through one installing a plow and they called me hoping I knew of a cheaper option.. Emission diesels like to be run hard and long, other wise stuff like egr coolers and intakes get gunked up. I don't know if anybody has quite figured it out yet.
