My truck is doing this also.
and replacing the ICP sensor scares me lol mines behind the turbo.... I've read its hell changing it......
I'm watching this thread hopefully utjer will find out whats making his do this.. and it will help me fix mine too :-)
I haven't got any experience working on these beasts. I usually fix all my gas trucks that i've had so turning a wrench doesn't scare me. But man these things get expensive real quick lol...

I have an older edge insight so I couldnt get everything you asked for.
I think all the Edge products can be updated by attaching it to your computer with a USB cable. There still may be some PIDS that are not available after you update, but if there have been any new additions to the Edge capabilities then they will become available to you.

I have tried this. My version has not been supported for a couple of years now. I'm just to cheap to get a newer one.
will i would suggest either a sticking turbo or an icp sensor freeking out.
Dang cheezit you're good. Got a check engine light on wednesday. Code P2855. Had a very erratic idle by this point and some black smoke on accelerating. Even stalled once waiting for a light to change. Replaced the icp and pigtail (it was soaked in oil). Had a friend who is a diesel tech for Ford go through everything. This was the only issue other than the leaking intercooler. The truck is now running perfectly. Thanks for all who contributed ideas.
