I am very leery of 6.0s, and this one has 94k on it. I chatted online with a salesperson and he knew nothing of this van when I talked about common issues and if they had any documentation if any of the fixes were done.
I watched a video of some guys doing the EGR delete on an F series truck and it looked like they were having "fun". How much "fun" would it be on a van????
I bought a 2006 E-450 with the 6.0 back in December 2012. I've been trying to figure out why the exact same RV was 3 grand less WITH the diesel vs. a V-10 (and the V-10 unit was in worse shape). So far all I can tell is that it must be based on the 6.0L's reputation. I did almost all of the standard maintenance on it so far (fuel, air, oil filters) and am planning on switching out the gold coolant with the red stuff (EC-1). It only has 36K miles on it, and I'm not in a big rush to swap out stuff like I might be if it had 100K. I've done one 400 mile run with it, and it ran great and has some serious grunt.
While doing the maintenance, I have found that however difficult it may be to work on an F-series, it is far more of a PITA to work on the E-series. Looking at the Bulletproof EGR installation instructions, it shows the intake manifold removal as step 1. Going after that in a van would be close to ridiculous with the hood/cowl in the way.
That van looks pretty clean for 10 grand. If it's bone stock, then you might want to look up what the 6.0L's weak spots are. If somebody has already done the work shoring up the potential problems, then it's probably a great deal. What's the blue book value anyway?
