Hey guys im looking at getting a 96 bronco with efi 302 and e4od 4x4. Id like to put a m5od swap. A couple questions, t-case can i use the one i have? The trans the same length? And the computer not to sure what to do about that. I wanted a 5spd from 300 i6 cuz the gears but not all that sure there different from other 5spd trans that had a v8. The rest of the swap im good on, i think. So any help on this be great, thanks guys.
You can keep the transfer case and the computer, the transmissions have different lengths, so you will have to replace or modify your shafts. The MLPS sensor will need to be placed in Neutral in order for your current computer to work with a manual, btw, the ZF5 is a more heavy duty choice and the swap procedure is similar, I would pick that one over the Mazda manual transmission.
Was looking to keep my reverse lights working and all that jazz. Also im not sure what zf trans come in what trucks. Havent done this swap but i am mechanically minded and have experience with pulling trans in the shop i worked at. So wanted to do this right and lack of a better term half assed.
