Question for the guru's here. Thrust washer or no thrust washer?
I am attempting to get my Dana 50 back together and have run into something that has me baffled. As I was cleaning all the parts up and inspecting the bearings the other day I was trying to figure out what was missing and from previous experience I came up with the thrust washers missing. The Dana web site shows one in the diagram and so does another on the web. Then there is the lovely hanes manual that shows both versions depending on what you are working on. So my question is does the 1994 IDI dana 50 have a thrust washer or not?
Thanks, Duane

Reason: title change
I guess I should have been a little more specific on which thrust washer. It is for the front wheel bearings. Anyways, I went ahead and made my own thrust washers. From what I remember the bearing and lock nuts should line up like this. Please tell me if I am wrong.
outer bearing, thrust washer, nut, lock washer, and finally the outer nut. Then the hub assy.
Any other inputs would be great!!!
I am almost done with the refurbishment of the dana 50. Only problem is the jack *** (me) who ordered the parts only ordered one tie rod end!!! I will have to talk to him in the morning about his mistake!!!
i don't think there's any washers in there no.the bearings set in and then you put the locking nut with pin the lock washer and then the outer nut in.i don't recall no washer other than the multi holed lock washer in there anyway.
Thanks for the reply. I guess my ocd from being a aircraft mechanic for 23 years has he worried that there should be some sort of a washer acting as a barrier between the nut and bearing. Oh well. We will see how this all works out.
