Hi all, I apologize in advance for a very basic and embarassing question to ask. Is there a trick to routing the E brake cabel over or around the bell housing, when reinstalling a c4 in an F1, without pulling the trans cover? Ive got the trans sucurly on a t jack, and a couple guide bolts (with heads cut off) so it should just slide rite in, but everytime I get close to the proper height, the e brake cabel binds somewhere and prevents front or rear movement. Ive played with it all afternoon by myself but for safetys sake I dont want to do to much shaking or forcing while Im under a truck on stands. Yes the Torque converter is in all the way (3 clicks). I dread pulling the trans cover, because it has so much sealant, paint ect and really should be replaced with a new taller one, wich I cant afford at the moment. I think the answer is obvious but I thought it wouldnt hurt anything but my pride to ask, b4 I start chipping away at another can of worms tomorrow. Thanks
Disconnect the cable clamp on the crossmember, it should give you freedom to swing the cable out of the way. It lays right on top of the BH on a stock flathead.

Yep, those cables are really stiff. Real PIA to work around.
Thanks guys, I ended up taking Wifey shopping today, but will try tomorow. I didnt know if Id get a response to this question, but as always, you guys have been there and done that B4. Your help is as always, very much apreceiated.
I had a problem similar to yours. I'm using a 351w with a c-6 and I didn't have the clearance for the b cable, shifter cable, and speedo so I made a new trans cover. The store bough ones are a little too low and expensive anyways. I'll try and get a pick in here for you. If you want to make one yourself it's quite easy.
