Lokar trans dipstick
#1

I put a locar stick in the 4L60E tranny that we put in Jon's 50. I can't remember what length I ordered but it was too long so I had to shorten it.
I mounted the pull **** on an offset bracket from one of the rear header bolts so it would move with the tranny which I thought would help prevent a leak from forming later.
To shorten the cable, measure the length you need. Pull the cable from the housing and carefully untwist the lower end from the housing. Tape the braided housing and cut with a die grinder and cut off wheel. Reinstall the lower sleeve with a coat of RTV to seal it.
Then remove the **** from the cable, tape and cut the EXACT same length from it and reinstall the ****.
Presto, a custom fit locar cable.
Measure twice, cut once,,,don't do as I do which is cut twice and come up short,,,hehehe
