I was watching a TV show yesterday (on Blu-Ray), where they love to show arial shots of the city protrayed in the program. I don't care how sunny it is, how clear the video is, or how well it's shot... cities creep me out (I have lived in and visited many). My drifting mind took an Amtrak ride and I ended up recalling something a friend once said to me about modding - "Why do we do this to ourselves?"
There it is, a valid question. We spend a lot of money and effort on four wheels and a seat, but many of you are not stupid or crazy (I can't say that for myself). There is a reason we do this, and many of us can back it up with pictures or video. I'm not talking about a still of your truck in the driveway... I can do that myself and it will look very similar to yours. I'm not talking about what we tow, that's another thread already full of pictures of wheeled stuff. I'm talking about washing that image of a cityscape from the inside of my eyes. I'd like to see the adventurous side of why we endure the expense and inconveniences inherent with our rigs. Mud bogging? Video up! Camping? Surely you saw something interesting and got a shot of it - like wildlife, scenery, or adventure. Boating? Some of our waterways are stunning... or maybe the bikinis are.
Lets share the fun side our hobby! I'll post some stuff later. After mine, it's possible nobody will feel like their's can compare.
Word of warning... my stuff will be the max size allowed. If anybody needs help with posting bigger images, this would probably be a good time to cover that. If you are uploading JPG files to your albums or attaching images, it helps to resize them to 1024 X 768. If you are using an outside storage like Photobucket or YouTube and attaching a link, then you will need to follow their restrictions.
*EDIT* In reading this, it sounds like a double-dog dare. It's not. It's an invitation for you to peruse your good memories with your 7.L - powered vehicle and post the most spectacular ones, so we can all enjoy them.
I've always heard about the beauty of the Smokey Mountains, and they don't disappoint. That looks like a happy dog, and a very peaceful place to relax with a campfire and the sound of serenading water.
Good stuff. I will have to play with you all at a later date on this one. We have been really bad about taking pictures of the places we have been recently, but I have made a commitment to myself to be better at it in the near future. Therefore (I haven't used that word here in a while) I will have some things to post up later this spring and summer.
The goal for my truck is to become an excursion type vehicle. I am not referring to the SUV of course
Rich, I think you will like these.
Here is the latest one. Started at the beach in my friend's F250 V10 and finished at a 5000ft pean on a 400cc Honda ATV. The truck could only go to about 4000ft before we had to get on the quads
Peeping through the clouds are the islands off our coast.
The rest are just other occasions..
Sorry for going over board, but I love these places
Hard to top a lot of these cool pictures, especially since most of the places ive been i havent had my truck (s). I hope to change that some this summer
I want my truck to be able to tow anything haul anything and look good while doing it. This is an older video that I took of me dragging a 30ft container fully loaded with junk on concrete by just letting the clutch out in 4 low. Thats what my truck is for... Hook to something and yank it.
