1994 Explorer broken strut mount
I'm going to be helping a friend replace the driver side strut/shock mount on his 1994 Explorer. The one that's on it now broke between the coil spring and shock.
I've already given it a "once over" to see what all needs to be done for this job. As far as I can tell, we'll have to torch out the rivets securing the old one to remove it. To install the new one, we just plan to bolt it in place and then "strategically" place welds in a few places to help reinforce it.
Of course, everything is easier said than done.
Does anybody have any useful tips or tricks for this job? Thanks.
