3 Point Seatbelt Conversion Question

I was intending to do 3 point seatbelt upgrade on my 72 Camper Special. I had read several of the how to articles on here about it and was pretty confident I could make it work. I found a great deal on the belts and brackets and everything was going fine until i pulled the Rubber plugs out where the mounting points for the upped points are. Everything i had read or seen lead me to expect to find threaded holes there. I did not. I found what looks like a mounting point reinforcement but the hole is not threaded. my question is can this be tapped or do i just need to drill it out larger and figure out how to get a washer and nut on the back side? Any tips?

I tapped mine, took all of about two minutes. I got the mounting bolts from a old 76 Grand Torino, just because it was the first ford car in the old junkyard I went to, they were self tapping bolts, I just used the air impact gun and ran them in and back out, then mounted the belts, solid as a rock.

The holes in my 1968 were threaded. As I recall they were standard 3/8" coarse.

a few made it out without threads, like tpdaniels said just tread them to match your mounting hardware

Bought the brackets from Bill W. on this site, the seats are 66 mustang that I had recovered in the 66 Mustang Pony Interior.
Only two can ride but it makes the truck feel twice as big inside.
