Truck box weight?

Just wondering if anyone knows what a S/B truck box weighs? I am considering building a flatbed for a new camper and am trying to see if I'm going to be close weight wise with the flatbed vs the box. Thanks!

The box will be far lighter unless you are building a very light aluminum flatbed. Two people can move a long box around.

Perhaps a steel frame/floor area and top it with aluminium diamond plate for looks. Your typical stake truck bed weighs more. I would use four guys to move a bed, if your friends require the amount of beer mine do.......

Along bed plus spare tire carrier weighs 550 lbs. I was researching getting a utility body for my truck and needed to know the weights.

Longbed must weigh about 250 lbs maybe 300..A guy on each side can carry it. Short bed has to be under 200 lbs.

Not even close...I have a long bed in my back yard. I can flip it turn it over whatever...I have a 500lb sander and its way too heavy to do much to it.
Thats with the tailgate off. Its gotta be 45 lbs at least.

scroll down to page 63 and read footnote #1. I forgot to include step bumper and tire. So if you would take 550 subtract wheel and tire and tire carrier I would guess 475lbs. Less if you take off the tailgate.

If the bed was 500lbs no way 2 guys could lift it up and walk away with it. Especially at the height its at. Try lifting 250lbs and walking with it.

No. The hitch is not attached to the bed.
