Hi,
I'm restoring an '83 F150 XL Flareside (5.8L) (Metallic Blue and White). While working on the interior I decided to install an aftermarket steering wheel. I ordered a mid-price from Grant Products. A couple of weeks later I received an email notifying me that the wheel wouldn't be ready for a 30 or more days. Grant advised me to cancel the order and come back later.
I found one of their distributors that stated they had the wheel in stock and I ordered it. A week later they send an email that the wheel would be delayed 40 days, would I like to wait? Being a chump I said yes. This week they moved the delivery date again into early June and this whole fiasco started in December!
A call to Grant gets nothing. They say they are a little behind. A little?
Has anyone out there had similar problems when ordering from Grant or their distributors?
Thank you,
Mike.
Last night and out of the blue CARiD, the distributor I'd ordered the steering wheel from, sent me an email. They were cancelling my order and refunding my money because they stated, "Grant Products, International" has serious issues in production right now and will not be able to fulfill your backorder in time. All wheels and wheel accessories and parts are delayed. We do not have any exact time when ..."
I am pleased that CARid had the initiative to consider their customer and say enough is enough. But it appears I'm going to have to purchase a fancy wheel from some other manufacturer. Anyone have suggestions?
