Windshield Spray Nozzle replacement

Gang,

Just got a new (to me) 95 F150 5.8 and have to replace the nozzles for the windshield washer. Is this easy? do they simply clip in or do I need to get at them from underneath?

Sorry - may be a really simple question, but I don't want to start something that I cannot finish :-)

Thanks!

Mike

They clip in, but I've never had any luck replacing mine from above. I found it easier to remove the screws holding the cowl to the firewall and replace them that way.

Bob,

Thank you and is the "cowl" the piece that the sprayers fit into? - is that easy to take off?

Thanks!

Yessir, it's the piece the nozzles snap into. I didn't remove mine completely, just took the screws out and lifted it as much as I could. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the hood needs to be off to get the cowl completely off.

Any time! Good luck with the repairs, it's really pretty easy once you get in there.

There is no need to remove the hood to get the cowl off, do it well so you only work on it once, there are only like 8 phillips bolts holding the cowl, all of them inside the engine bay. once the cowl is free you will be able to check the nozzles and replace them if needed, but I would advice trying to clean them before: high pressure air, a needle, some solvent, all will help in the cleaning. Don't forget to check all the hoses that feed the nozzles, they're plastic and they become brittle and clogged in time.
