1951 Ford hood options

Hey guys, I'm new to this section on the Ford trucks forum. So anyways, I purchased an "almost all there" 51 Ford F1 the other day. The only major thing the truck is missing is a hood. What other years fit on this truck? I am planning on keeping it mostly original but would be okay with modifying an older or newer hood to make the emblems correct. I've done some research on hoods and they seem to be semi difficult to find, and most of the ones I have found have been 500+ miles away. Any good aftermarket sites you would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You will have to find a used one. The only ones that will fit are from 48 - 52. 48 - 50 have different nose trim and holes but will still fit. Check with 51PanelMan. He has lots of parts or may be able to tell you where to find them.

Welcome. You have chosen the best design out of the 48-52 model years.

Hoods are interchangeable between 51-52 model years without having to change any other body parts. However, the aesthetic design between 51-52 hoods is slightly different. I should have both year hoods available and will make you a good deal because of the shipping cost involved. Contact me at modelking2000 at hotmail dot com if you're interested.

And another welcome from California.

Indeed...Greyhound will haul a hood from California to Pennsylvania. It would be under $100 for the shipping.

Just about anything that you find will need some bodywork.

Thanks guys for the responses. I have to wait probably about a year until I have some more spending money for this project so i'm going to just be looking around for now to see what I need and can find.
