So last night I picked up this gem(trucks in signature), it's a 1973 ford f-250 highboy for FREE from my uncle! I have wanted this truck since I was a little kid.So here's my plan I am going to use the 73 highboy to conver my 75 350 to 4wd. I am taking the tranny it's a ZF5 four speed, transfer case, driveshafts, and front and rear suspension from the 73. All have everything I need to convert it except a front axel. My truck is geared 4:10 rear so tonight I am going to pick up a Dana 44 disc break front geared 4:09. When I'm finished I will have a 1975 ford f350 Supercab highboy. I will keep you guys posted on my progress. Let me know what you guys think.
A ZF5 4speed????? The ZF5 is a five speed. Plus unless it was at some point swapped in the trucks came with either the T18 or NP435 transmissions these are both 4 speeds. Otherwise, congrats on the purchase, sounds like a good project.

My bad, I typed five wrong and auto correct took it, it is a five speed. Thanks!
Would you guys recommend going with a Dana 44 or a Dana 60 front for my Supercab? What are some pros and cons? I know I have I 4:10 rear so that means I have to have a 4:09 front axel. Other thank that I'm lost! Please help!!!

If you are just going to drive the truck and haul stuff, versus racing and mudding, then the Dana 44 will hold up just fine.
Yes, you can convert the 5 lug to an 8 lug.
