Ignition problem, please help!

So, I have a 1995 F-150 5.0 that has been sitting for about a week while me and a buddy did the clutch. We're almost done, my buddy says he gets in and rips the key out of the ignition on accident. We get done, I go to back out, I move about 50 feet and the starter randomly engages. I hurry up and turn the ignition off, take the key out, and it's still running. No matter what position the key is in the truck won't turn off. I have to stall the motor to get it to turn off and even then all my accecories and stuff are still on. I replaced the ignition lock and didn't help anything. Starter still cranks over properly although if the key gets too close to the start position while in run, it'll engage. Anyone know wha'ts going on and how to fix the thing? Kinda pissed that I fixed my truck and it breaks right when I get done.

Check out your ignition switch There is a rod from your tumblers where your key goes in running down side of steering column that goes to the ignition switch .may be out of adjustment something broken? .you got to pull the plastic cover around steering column to see ignition switch .You may end up replacing your ignition switch
