Carb spacer

Hi, just installed an edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 650 thunder avs, and long tube headers on the 352 in my '67 F100.. ust wondering if it is worth it to put a carb spacer on.. I think I have enough good clearance w/ air cleaner, but would it make any difference with power/efficiency?

You may find like me that you have to. After running the truck a bit, you can stop (let's say for a coffee) come out and the truck doesn't want to crank because the hot intake has boiled all the gas out.

Installing a 1" phenolic spacer stopped the boiling and I could feel & hear a performance increase with it on. This was 12 + years back so no fresh details.

Actually that has been a bit of a problem that I have noticed since I did the Intake swap, maybe I will give it a shot. Thanks!

X2 on the phenolic spacer, especially with an Eddy carb which already has smallish float bowls prone to boil off.

I used a 1" phenolic spacer with basically the same setup and no problems.

There's a reason the 428 cj's came stock with one. It wasn't because Ford had some money to burn.

If you get to big I think you'll start to get a throttle lag coming off idle.

wasn't suggesting a 4" just was trying to say room is not really a problem with these trucks.
