Ok guys, I have searched the forums but I cant find a solution to this. I have fixed it b4 but cant remember what I fixed. I have a 95 E-250 with 160k on it and the guy that drives the truck tells me the speedometer is not working, tranny shifts bad and od light is flashing, anybody got a clue what this is? This truckk is used for my work and like I said it was fixd b4 but I cant remember.AS always thanks.
1st thing is check the fuses, in the F-series the dome light fuse blows causing power loss to the speedo(PSOM), not sure about the E-series. With out the PSOM sending speed info to the ECU, it will put the tranny info limp mode with the flashing OD light. Now on my 95 E350 it turns out the PSOM itself was bad causing the exact problem shifting, but it did show the speed though.
I found a bad capacitor leaking on the PSOM's PCboard causing my problem.
Do a search for PSOM and you will pull up more info here.

The trans went in the fail-safe mode because it stopped receiving the signal from the PSOM, check the fuses, then the wiring, if both check, consider replacing the PSOM.
As always ,you guys rock. It was the dome light fuse(never would have thought to look there) that was blown, replaced it now runs fine. Thanx for the help.
