Well the thing now is that I have knocked out the top mirror insert on the passanger side, and lost the actuation pins that move the pwr mirror. The insert from ford is $32 (not bad I thought) , but they do not sell the pins with the mirror.
These are the pins that look like old wooden close pins,
does any one out there have a set off of an old mirror??
Love to help you, but I'm trying to sell the older TT's as a complete set. You'd be better off to look for the pins out of a damaged mirror at your local wrecker. The problem is trying to get the cover off the forward side of the mirrors. they tend to break before they come off.
The pins on my mirrors look more like wooden dowels than clothes pins. If you're talented, you might use a good pin as a model and try to find something close in the way of a plastic rod at your local plastics store.
The " dowels lookin' pin" are the support pins, the "close pins" are located inside the red weatherproof boots. and you might not of had them come out with your install.
I have a couple of collision centers looking for me, but on hits yet.
Were your mirrors pwr, and want do you want for them.
Sorry, man. I didn't pay very close attention to the mirrors when they were apart, I was more concerned with getting them up and running. I just assumed the white pins moved the glass around. Didn't even see any "red" boots during the install.
Yes, they're the electric TT's. Send me an email,(click on "Profile" at the bottom of my post), if you want to talk pricing. CBSuperduty has also expressed an interest in them, and I'll need to give him "first right of refusal".
