The other day I noticed an odd buzzing sound when I am waiting for the glow plugs to warm up. Its coming from behind the vent on the drivers side. I thought it was my glow plugs, but it continues after the light goes out.
I have the same noise sometimes. This morning it did not happen. I have read on the forum about an air damper door solinoid not operating correctly or something like that. When my truck does make that buzzing while I'm waiting for my glow plugs to warm up, it goes away once the truck is started. I've been curious to it's exact origin...
I just checked it, its about a ¼ cup low. ill add some when I get home and see if that helps. The truck runs fine, just a new weird noise.
I dont think its the air dampner door, its under the hood for sure. If it happened more often I'd have some one turn the key while I was under the hood. But it doesn't always happen.
That's what is making the noise on mine. Found it finally today. Good tip! Only does it occasionally prior to start up. Seems like it stops after start up when it happens. I guess this is normal?
