Getting bank 1 lean code and cylinder 2,3,4, misfire codes, Installed new intake manifold due to leak at crossover but this was going on before and still persists. Any ideas? Thanks, Greg
Cylinders 2, 3, & 4 are misfiring.
They are all located in bank #1.
Since they are misfiring, the oxygen within the combustion mixture was not consumed.
As this oxygen passes by the O2 sensor for bank #1, it gets interpreted as excessive oxygen and thats why the PCM throws up the P0171 code - Bank #1 too lean.
Misfires more than likely caused by the ignition system, depending on the MY and engine size.
If you post up the year/make/model/engine size someone on here will be able to get more specific as to how to diagnose your specific ignition system.
Truck is a 2000 expedition with 5.4 motor. When I changed intake manifold I did not mark coils or injectors so I don't think I won the lottery by putting them back in the original spot.It seems to run fine when cold but when it warms up it stumbles at 1500 to 2200 rpm. Also dies at idle randomly. It does make me wonder that if plugs are firing but injectors not would that not make a lean condition? Just a thought since I am getting my butt kicked on this. Thanks to all for replys. Greg
