Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to change it as a preventative measure also, but I bet it has a lot of slack.
The high end miss could also be plugs and wires. Try closing the gap .005" or .010" if you have a wide gap plug. As they get older they tend to open the gap as the electrode wears.

It did have play in the chain. Still the marks were inline. I'm going to install a Cloyes Street True Roller Timing Chain. Should I advance the cam from 8* retard to TDC? I think its 8* retard.
