I bought my first powerstroke about 3 weeks ago and i love it. Ive driven it almost 800 miles since i bought it and it runs better and better everyday.
I bought it for 1800 bucks and it had a bad injector.knock and it would only crawl around. After alot of help from you guys and my uncle i put sulfer substitue in it filled up the tank and changed the fuel filter then prayed. I fired it up let it run and she fixed herself but still had a little miss every.now and again and it rocked when it missed.
Shortly after i changed the filter i had a massive fuel leak after fighting with autozone i got a new filter and solved that leak.
Then today while under the truck inspecting.it.i found a oil leak from.the valve.cover.and.found.4 bolts.loose.i.tightend them down hoping that issue is fixed. Also while under it i discoved a new fuel leak.
I tracked down the the fuel leak i thought, i was thinking the leak was from the o rings on the fuel pressure regulator. Again i was wrong who ever worked on my truck before i got it had the.fuel bowl out and didnt tighten down two hose clamps on the fuel lines. So since.i.was that far into it so i decided to pull the fuel bowl clean it and check the sensors and o rings.
I pulled the fuel pressure regulator off and the screen was clogged full of gunk so i soaked it in sulfer substitute cleaned it put every thing back together and tightend down all,of the hose clamps and guess what guys no more miss or engine rock its like a brand new truck has alot, more power.
Thanks guys if it wasnt for yall i would still be stuck with a truck that would drive and had an injector knock. Ill post.mkre.as.i learn i,hope this helps somone else out.
Its getting there when,i,first bought it i didnt know much about them but yall guys have.been, leading me in the right direction hopefully ill be getting my.4in turbo back diamond.eye.exaughst.in about a month or so then its gauges.and a.tuner then im done i tow.too much to be souping it up
My uncle recommended.it.to me its made by gunk its.6 to 8 bucks a bottle its a.diesel.stabilizer and de gel. Basicly the way he put it to me was that this low.sulfer.highway diesel is not the best on our old trucks with oem injectors.like i.bb have he said add a bottle every 5 fill ups and use it to clean all ur fuel system parts
As for your front fuel tank, I'd start at the tank selector valve.
Wherever that thing is at. I still have to get under and look for mine cause it be broken.
Been to cold or wet out for me to crawl around on the ceeeement.
The tank selector valve is located in the drivers side frame rail, just behind the back of the cab. This is what it looks like https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...owner-faq.html EDIT WTF happened here, that link was for a thread in the IDI section!
Thanks fellas yeah,i know where that is. It looks like they disconected the fuel lines from the.front tank so looks like im dropping a tank soon, i love texas weather.
I drilopped.tbe.tank and found out that the tank had a hole.in the bottom of it and the transfer pump was by passed so i just left the.front tank out and ive got.a fuel tank 4ft long 3ft wide and 2ft high
