Steel Cancer has reached a critical point on that vehicle. I would need to see it in person but from what I see its not a good candidate for restoration. I would consider a full on body swap but would need to see what the chassis is like.
Sad, but sometimes you have to put them out to pasture. Could it be fixed up? Yeah, of course. With enough money. Would it make financial sense? I'm sure there are better candidates out there. Interesting looking machine though.

Are you serious? Unless I missed it, all I see is surface rust. I didn't see any rust thru on it. I think my 89 E350 has more rust. Are you sure you aren't from California? Me being a Minnesota guy I've got worse rust then that has on at least two of the vehicles sitting in my driveway. It may have some rust holes in the floors somewhere but I don't see any in the pictures.
What I didn't see any where on the listing is a location. That might help it sell.
It appears to have good parts on it already ? Could you not remove those parts and put them on one with no rust ( God Forbid )....I also have a thing for 460's.....

Man I must be blind. You guys are talking like the thing is a block of swiss cheese.
All I see is surface rust. You sand it down it goes bye bye. If it's too severe for that. You sand it down, then hose it down with some rust convertor and then hit with a skim coat of filler to fill any pitting.
Here's rusty, this was the 5spd van I scrapped out. Now this one was too rough to be worth saving.
It's in California. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Ford-4x4-Pathfinder-E350-Monster-Van-Ford-460-Edelbrock-Detrooit-Locker-NR-/111042126214?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19daa06186#ht_826wt_1165
I'm gonna side with 95e on this---its good as a parts vehicle and not much else.
Visible rust isn't limited to hinged or bolted on parts---its already into the rocker panels, lower quarter panels and the steel inner body parts (fender liner) show considerable deterioration as well. We can't see under whatever covers the floor, front and rear areas.
I don't enough about the Pathfinder brand of 4x4 conversion but were the drive line components common enough repair parts are still available? Off the shelf available, not hunt, peck and search from heaven and back finding them?
The seller has added to his initial description noting even thought it was once upon a time bad azz its in need of a frame off restoration. Its great he's so forthcoming but still one has to wonder what are we not seeing?
Apart from the mechanical parts---assuming they're really in good order there would be many more suitable candidates for all the work and money required to soundly restore on of these E-vans. If it sells for over $1500 I'd be surprised; its eBay so one never knows.
