It doesn't appear they make the right size for the ball joints anyway. Am I really going to have to buy 2 new ball joints for this stupid mistake. Why the heck would Moog not sell replacement boots?
Very true there are some brands that do have replacement boots
and one would think you could find one to fit the Moog joints.
Let us know what you find. You never know someone else may be
in the same boat. Also I still think you should try to get then to replace them.
The full joint that is.
Thanks for the help guys. Energy suspension doesn't make one that will fit these particular ball joints. I bought these from fordsuperdutyparts.com and sent them a message 3 days ago and have not heard back. I have also tried calling a few times but they do not have a customer service line that is monitored (how stupid is that?). When you call it basically says to send them a message through the website but obviously they don't answer those in a timely manner.
I have a 2003 F250 4x4 which I need to replace the the ball joints, etc. Is MOOG the best brand to go with? I am in need of fixing the slack in my steering. What else do I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Good news. I sent another message to Fordsuperdutyparts via their website message system and they immediately responded via email. They were very apologetic for not responding to the first message and said they didn't have record of it in their system (maybe it got lost in translation). They confirmed my shipping address and said they would send out a boot service pack today. This pack contains one upper and one lower boot. I still don't like that they don't have a customer service phone number but I suppose they have redeemed themselves.
Ssparkman, that could be caused from slack in the steering box and steering linkages as well. I'm in the process of replacing all of that on my truck but I also have 270,000 miles on my truck and it's never been done (except for ball joints on one side).

Dick,
I'm not sure but they knew I had the Moog joints. However, whatever they are sending is better than what I've got right now. When I talked to Moog they said they won't sell the boots separately so I'm not sure exactly what it is. I'll report back when I get it.
I had the same problem with a set of Moog ballpoints I bought from one of our site sponsors, RockAuto Parts Catalog. I screwed up the boots by accident, and when I explained what happened they sent a new set of balljoints under warranty.
