has any one used engine pro bearings for 390 . the problem i'm having is the thrust bearing is a tight fit and when i put them in the have one side sticking up and not sitting flush. any thoughts would be great
I can't seem to find the info I "think" I am remembering, but seems to me there was a change at one time to the size of the thrust face on the center bearing.
It may be that an older block (and cap) was not machined flat "far enough out" so that the larger diameter thrust face starts to ride up and over the part of the block.
Check the machined area (side of bearing saddle) is big enough for the thrust face of the bearing.
If that's OK, I might be able to find some data so you can make measurements to determine of it's the bearing or block that is the problem.
Finally, the center bearing does take a little effort to seat, but it should merely feel tight and not have to be forced to any extent. In other words, they don't "drop" in.
