Next day I re-filled rad and changed the thermostat.
Fired her up and had the cap off intitially. No flow to be seen. Put cap on, 10min later the overflow hose is pissing.
New thermostat could be faulty? Rad is clogged? I will try to run the truck with no thermostat and flush the rad with normal hose to alleviate either of those.
i also noticed the fan shroud came loose and broke off on the top left (when looking at engine). I've heard this can cause issues!
Last thing I can think of is that I filled the rad to the brim, so it could be leveling out to a proper level of coolant?
Like " mark a " said you can't fill it to the top and keep it there . You can add in an overflow tank on the fender inner wall and fill it to the mark they have on it, a lot of cars / trucks came with them. Most of my radiators level off about 1" to 1.5" , water expands as it heats up and has to go some place. If you had kept running it with out the cap until the thermostat opened up it would blow water out the cap opening most likely . Hot water in your face makes a bad day.

I learned that lesson trying to impress a girl at 16yr old with my old bronco! Haha . You know what I totally spaced about The rad puking out the overflow until its at a happy level, which I should have remembered from the flush I did last fall. Lets let her run to op and see if were good. Fan shroud will need a fix.
