Hey guys, i have a 78 f150 with a granny 4 speed and a inline 6. I have a 351w that i plan on swaping with the inline 6 and i need to know if i should have some problems or would things bolt right up and be good to go??
brandon, You will need 302 pickup perches, about 69-79, the correct flywheel and clutch for the W and it should be pretty straight forward on the majors.
Don't know if these issues I had doing the I6 to V8 in my '70 F100 will apply to your '78 or not. The '70 I6 radiator outlet and the throttle linkage were both on the wrong side. I used V8 radiator and throttle pedal/lever.
Also eliminated the throttle linkage bell crank and used a straight 9.5" or 10" (can't recall right now) swedged rod and helm joints from Speedway.
The oil pan I used was a front sump but the engine sits so high I think any oil pan would clear the crossmember and drag link.

Also, John, you can use 77-79 351M/400 perches as they are the same as 302 perches, as per Bill.
