Sm. blk. engine swap
I have a '77 F150 4x4. It originally had a 300ci 6cyl. 4spd. I wanted to put an automatic tranny in. I couldn't find a stock tranny/xfer. We converted a C-6 from a 4x2 from the guts of a big blk c-6, a tali shaft housing from a salvage yard, and used my 4spd xsfer. What need to know is, can I swap engines 300 for a 351w by just changing motor stands and radiator? If it is going to be as much trouble as I had getting the linkage right on tranny, ugh. Thanks . 300, 302, 351 have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. use 302 mounts/frame brackets, flexplate. the radiator will work from 351m, 360, etc. preferably with a/c. oil pan/pickup tube might have a clearance problem if so use a 80 or later truck pan.
