Hey Guys, I am new and looking for some advice. I just purchased my first diesel yesterday. I lucked up upon a one owner 1997 F350 Dually XLT with the 7.3 Turbo Diesel. Truck has a verified 98,000 miles. It is automatic with pw,ps,tilt, cruise. Also it has air shocks with an onboard compressor. Could this be a factory option? It sure looks like it. I am planing on pulling a 6900lb camper. The truck is like new. I don't know how the previous owner kept it this way. He has receipts for every nickle he ever spent on it. He is 82 years old and very detail minded. The records he kept are unbelievable. He put seat covers over all the seats when he bought it new and they are still on it,although I will take them off tomorrow. He went over all the required maintenance items with me My question is, do I need to add any supplements to fuel or oil? I was in AutoZone yesterday and they have almost a full wall of fuel and oil treatments. Do I need any of that stuff? Also what kind of fuel mileage can I expect? Thanks, Mike
No additives in the oil. Just use good diesel rated oil, synthetic or dino. Some 2 stroke oil or something like Mike mentioned in the fuel is helpful to lube the injectors.
