Pats problem?
Ok i tried again. This time I did it while running and it still read 5284. Is there a way to reset that? Also when cycling through to get to the dtc portion of the readout one of the areas says EE, and is flashing between fail and 01. Does this mean anything? Thanks
The EE display flashing says to replace the insturment panel.
Your at the the end of this situation , now.
You just saw the value and reason why there is a dash diagnostics procedure otherwise you would never know except change the dash cluster on a guess.
Only possability left is componant solder connnections on the circuit board might be recovered, if that is the problem, using a low wattage iron and some solder, inspecting with a magnifying glass, the connection points.
Good luck.

Sweet thanks. Now it's time to decide whether to just buy a new one from dealership for $450 plus install and programming, or get one from the you-pull- it, then get the dealer to program it to the keys.
