hello everyone, ive been having issues recently. my e-brake and ABS sensor lights on my 1996 Ford F-350 7.3L powerstroke have been on for a while since i replaced my brakes. but now my ABS light flashes, i replaced my sensor twice, and now its doing it again. i checked all my fuses, and whenever i engage my hazards, i blow the fuse under the hood in the fuse box. i have replaced that fuse many times also. so, i was wondering if someone could give me tips or instructions on how to fix this problem? its starting to become costly....
First, the "e-brake" light is not that, or not primarily anyway. Its primary function is to warn you if the hydraulic brakes have failed. Have you checked the brake fluid level? Have you checked for brake fluid leaks?
Do any fuses blow when you hit the brake pedal? Do the brake lights work, including the center light in the cab roof?

"i do have a minor brake fluid leak at my master cylinder. i know its probably the seals inside, so im going to have to replace that, but could that interfere with the ABS sensor? all brake lights work, including the third 'cab' brake light. i haven't found any problems in any wiring, but i think i may just take it to a diesel mechanic. my buddy knows a guy, i think it may just be easier."
This is not a diesel issue; any mechanic who can be trusted with brakes can handle this. But the hydraulic leak is the prime suspect. You should NEVER drive with leaking brake hydraulics; that minor leak can become a complete hydraulic failure in an instant.
And yes, any hydraulic issue can set the ABS light; it's a bit of a bum steer. Start with fixing the leak, then see if the ABS light still goes on.
