So I was taking my dash out to run some wires and found two plugs that were plugged into the back of my dash keeping it from coming all the way out. Unplugged them and looked and they don't go to anything.
One is next to the cigar lighter.
The other is right under the AC vent to the right of the steering wheel
The one by the lighter would be connected to an airbag disable switch if you had a regular or extended cab truck. The other one is likely the transfer case switch, but not used since it looks like you have a manual lever.
They are for features that you do not have on your truck. It is cheaper to include the wires and not use them than manufacture several wiring harnesses with all of the different option combinations.

X's 2 on both accounts, and a quick response, tried to rep, but had to spread it around!
These guys are correct, there's actually a blank connection on the back side of the dash where these plugs go to hold them in place. Different possible blank plugs include 4x4 switch plug, parking aid (later models) plug, passenger air bag plug (for crewcabs, usually single/suoercabs have the switch), and I'm not sure if the pedal adjust switch plug is there are not, but it's lower anyway and wouldn't be seen with just the upper panel off.
I've got one that I've been curious about, and this seems like a reasonable place/time to ask. Under the hood, driver side, main line right at firewall. There are 3-4 wires coming out of the main harness and appear to be factory terminated. I noticed it a while back when I was installing my gauges and snapped a pic, just never got around to asking about it.

Those wires are for acessories. They go from there to under the dash near the trailer brake controller plug. I think it was designed for the ambulance package so you don't have to make a hole in the firewall to run wires inside for aftermarket acessories under the hood.
Interesting. I may have utilized those for gauge wires if I'd have known beforehand. That's good info for guys with manuals who don't have the plastic piece to drill out to get through the firewall.
