A not so new Excursion owner

Hi all. I'm a returning Excursion owner. Back in 2001 and 2004 I bought new X's and last fall after about a 5 year vacation I bought a used 2002 V-10 Limited 4x4. I tried a GMC Yukon XL and a Expedition EL but always missed my Excursions. Anyway I just thought I'd post what I've done to my Excursion and say this website is GOLD.

2005 F-series grill
New Nitto terra grappler 285/75/16's
New #5200lb front springs
3.5" F-350 blocks on rear
R.A.S. system on the back springs. (this made a big difference)
Red Head Steering gear box. (discounted due to this website- Thank you)
kenwood Nav Radio with Stealth box and JL Audio speakers thru-out
Back-up camera, Sat. radio.
passanger side exhaust manifold

coming for summer
20" Ford 08-10 Wheels and tires. The 16's will be for winter only.
Hellwig rear stablizer.

Due to the improvments and changes being made I'm having so much fun on this Excursion I'm probably giving my wife my 2012 F350 6.7 Lariat 4x4 Crewcab. Hopefully in the next week or 2 I will post some Pic's of my Excursion. Thank you to all the guys who really know their stuff on these Excursions.

just a forewarning those new 08-10 20" rims you want will need proper spacers for them to fit properly. i hear they are around $600. due to the new coilover design they made changes to the offset of the rims and can cause rubbing on the front leaf springs.

gotta say i love the new ford interior and dashes on those trucks, and lockers stock! its a hard choice between those two! but good to hear you enjoy your new toy.

Oh yes pictures are coming. Peace2peep it's signiture pictures of Excursions like yours that I'm going for. Mine is the toreador red and tan/adobe?? The original owner appears to have taken pretty good care of the X. KornfanJoe I noticed that the other day on one of the threads. Definately not crazy about the hundreds of dollars I've been spending here and there but this is the first vehicle that I have ever paid cash for. And I must say when I look in the driveway the Excursion looks 10x's better than the new SuperDuty because of this. LOL. The V-10 really doesn't even bother me because our Family Trucksters usually only get about 8k to 10k miles per year put on them. There are some nice Excursions floating around out there in the $8k to $10k dollar range with V-10's. Maybe I'm wrong in my reasoning but I think this is a steal if you need a SUV with alot of room.

In my spare time all I've been doing is going thru page after page and thread after thread taking in all the knowledge I can get. It's been driving the wife nuts the last few weeks but if I took my finals today I just might receive a masters degree on these things. Someday I may just say to hell with restoring an old car and do something completely radical to one of these things.
