This past weekend, at a local salvage yard while I was junk yard hopping, I stumbled across a 1974 f350 SUPER camper-special. 2wd, 460, auto, spare tire in the passenger side of the bed (sorta like the tool box compartment only much bigger). Dana 70 rear end w/ sway bar and factory wide rear rims, imagine 9.75" due to 16.5" diameter. Also had a rather large rear bumper, hung down quite a bit. I wish I had a camera with me, it was definitely neat. I did however manage to snag the SUPER camper-special badgeing although they are broke.

Anyone else ever come across a truck like this?
Yes .. pretty cool trucks .. the rear axle is set back further then regular wheel base and usually came with limited slip differential and a huge rear fuel tank
We actually have one siting on the farm right now. (not a supercab) It's only got about 46,xxx original miles. Too bad it's rusting away, it was in pretty good shape when we parked it. Maybe one day I'll try to save it.

I've seen...at minimum: 100 .. since 1973 / 1973 S/CS emblem (D3TZ-16720-W) is one year only, 1974/76 S/CS emblem (D4TZ-16720-D) is the same.
1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase:
1973/76 Super Camper Special / 1973/79 Regular Cab Trailer Special / 1977/79 Regular Cab Camper Special ~ FoMoCo dropped "Super" after 1976.
1973/76: 360 standard equipment, 390 2V (1974/76 390 4V), 460 optional / 1977/79: 460 standard equipment.
All have Dana 70 rear axles. Limited Slip, chrome or painted step bumper, chrome or painted contour bumper were optional.
The brackets used with factory step bumpers are notorious "weak sisters." A slight tap on the bumper causes it to sag down like an old nag.
I actually have a 74 F350 Super Camper Special. I wish I could find the wide rear rims (9.75 x 16.5) some place local. I'd like to put those on the rear as mine had those originally. Hard to find around here and the shipping costs are high when I find them out of state.

16.5" x 6.75" wheels using 8.75-16.5" tires: 1967/72 F350 & 1967/79 F250 Camper Special's.
16.5" x 9.75" wheels using 9.50-16.5" tires: 1973/76 F350 Super Camper Special, 1973/79 F350 Trailer Special, 1977/79 F350 Camper Special.
Lotsa luck finding either of these tire sizes. They've been difficult to find since new and are very expensive when found.

I appreciate the heads up, but I am referring to finding original stock 9.75 rims, not the after market spoke or aluminum rims. True, I can find those all day long but try finding a set of stock Ford 9.75 x 16.5 rims that can hold the dog dish. I found a couple over the past on Ebay but shipping alone was about $50 each. Here's a set that sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-5x9-75-Steel-Wheel-8x6-5-Ford-Old-Pattern-F-350-/221191130037?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=WI8IEHYUbNCOoeFjqxRSXLRUPt0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
I have a set in good shape and probably will be going to Co. in mid may .. My brother lives in Greeley .. If you still haven't found what you need I'll bring them with ..
