Got a Excursion

Hi everyone, I have been lurking here for a while and decided to get a 2002 4X4 Limited Excursion. It is a 7.3 with lots of options, like rear entertainment, memory seats, power pedals, and steering wheel climate and radio controls. Seems to be well taken care of, but has 216,000 miles. I am going to use it as my daily driver.

Thanks, I feel that I got a decent price. I paid $12000. I think it has lots of miles left in it. Now to hook my boat behind it and see how it pulls

I dont know how big your boat is.. but you'll probably have to look back on occasion to see if it's still there it almost feels like you're pulling nothing!

That's a fact...I think I need to get a bigger boat for that reason. Kinda scary not feeling the boat back there since I got my EX.

What springs are recommended? I do not want the vehicle to be taller than it is now though, if i change them out.

Your best option will be to replace with the factory replacements. But at 11 years old... those springs have probably done a little sagging and even direct replacements will lift it a little.

Ok, I been looking at springs. What are the spring codes for the direct factory replacements? I think I will add a rear sway bar to it when the springs are replaced. Is the Hellwig brand a good one? Thanks.

Most do a V front spring and a B rear spring. It will raise the truck more than it is now due to the weak Excursion stock springs settling. They will put it up about 1.5" over what the stock truck was when it was new. But the driving, riding and handling will be VASTLY improved. As for the sway bar, Hellwig makes a great addition to the truck.

Congratulations! Welcome to the club.......the empty wallet club, that is!

Truck looks great, very pretty color scheme. I am jealous you got a diesel. And yes, you should get MANY more miles out of her.

Way to go!
