05 XL grille?
Anyone know if an 05 grille (the style that mounts to the hood) can be modded to fit an 02 X. I really like the look of the " SUPER DUTY" molded in the plastic.

The 2008-2010 grilles are mounted to the hood. Everything before and after is mounted to the radiator supports.
Haven't heard of anything like this but many have swapped to the 08+ front end.

It fits except you have to trin the bottom a bit. But the 05 grill mounts the same as an 02. Not on the hood.

Ok. Found one on CL, and the seller claims its 05, and mounts to the hood. Just wanted to get input from the mind of the forum before I purchase. Maybe I'll go take a look just to be sure. It looks OEM, and for 100 bucks, I think it's a no brainer.

I got an 05 grill for my ex for $80 brand new so yeah, it is a no brainer.

I have an '05 Ex.
The grille bolts to the radiator support
just like the earlier models.

There is NO "super duty" on the stock
grille for '00-'07.

That is a 2008-2011 grille and will only fit those years.
