New problem. I am experiencing a heavy vibration and I think its coming from the transmission. I have no steering wheel shake but the vibration seems to get worse at higher speeds. Also, the transmission sometimes fails to shift into overdrive and the tow haul light is flashing.
Any ideas? I was thinking either torque converter or flywheel weights. Any help would be appreciated.
check out your u joints and see if your balance weight on your driveshaft is still there. Not sure about your shifting issue...could be a synchro blocker ring going south. fluid level ok, and look good, and smell ok, not burnt? sorry is this a manual? or auto? if auto, disregard the blocker ring theory
The first thing to do is to get the codes read. That may tell you where the problem lies. Don't take it to an auto parts store, they can't read Ford transmission codes.
yeah i tried to read it with my scanguage and obd ii and didnt get any codes. Still havent found the problem. may take it to the tranny shop this week.
