I found an old bumpside at a salvage yard with really nice rain gutter trim. I would like to get it for my '72 F-250, but I can't figure out how to remove it. Are there any tricks, special tool needed...? Help!
I have not tried it myself but I've been told to use the bottle opener side of the ol' fasioned bottle/can opener. And a lot of patience. Go slow. Remember that old church key from when we were kids?
old style bottle cap opener is the ticket , use the rounded end cover it with 1 layer of electrical tape , start at one end and SLOWLY lift I use a small flat blade screwdriver under trim to keep it from snapping back on and gives a little tension on trim to help pop it off . takes about 30 minutes so be patient
Thank you for all the great replies! I can see how the old "church key" would work well! I will bring along all of the tools suggested and take my time.
I am in Cascade, about 20 minutes south of Great Falls.
