10.8 mpg!
2001 Ex, 7.3l PS and I'm getting 10.8 mpg. I recently had an issue with my K&N filter which I changed. There is a large amount of build up on the intake pipe. I thought it was due to the filter but since changing my mileage hasn't changed and now I"m wondering if it could be the intake valve. Everything else is regularly maintained. If the intake valve is bad, could it spit exhaust back onto my filter? How would I know if it's bad? Any other ideas?

Wow, 10.8 is awful! Not sure about this intake valve you speak of, I don't think the 7.3 has such a thing. Of course there are 8 intake valves in the heads.
