What does an HEI distributor, do for an engine? Increase HP? What would it do to the Fuel mileage?
When thinking about adding a high out put coil which will help put more fire in the hole and provide more complete burn and help MPG it can be done with a larger coil which with an OEM distributor means it is mounted externally ..
With this type of coil a lot of guys don't like to have to figure out where to put it ..
With the HEI style it is mounted in the top of the cap
Have you ever heard of BBF? This is a distributor that I found on Ebay, (215 DISTRIBUTOR RS13 BBF). It is a new HEI Distributor for 39.99. To me, it sounds VERY MUCH, too good to be true! But, just wondering.
HEY HASTERANGER i HAVE THIS DIS NEW IN BOX NO COIL,,LOOKING TO GET A FAIR PRICE IF INTRESTED PM i WONT BE USING IT THANKS mALLORY I CAN SHOOT YOU SOME PICS IF NEEDED
$40 is way to good to be true. It's chinese, so basically it'll be true until the drive gear breaks off the driveshaft, falls into your crank and makes little baby engine parts. Then it will be false.
yeah I wouldn't risk my engine on that. I think generally summit sells good stuff and they stand behind their products... no reason to go any cheaper than the summit one.
I need to get the plug-in pigtail and then I'll be ready to install. I was a bit leery of getting something so cheap but the seller seems to have good ratings and use a made in U.S.A. module. I'm sure the rest of it is made West of Hawaii.
It looks exactly like the one Summit sells under the "Proform" brand for $200.00.
yeah thats sort of where it might be worth spending the extra money to get it from summit even if its (nearly) the same part. If I get it from summit and it blows up and ruins other parts on my motor, I can pick up the phone and call them and I feel pretty good about them making it right one way or another. If you buy it off ebay they aren't even gonna refund you your purchase price back.
