C6 Valve body issues?
I have a 1980 F100 302, C6, 2wd truck. Honestly dont know the history of the truck as I have only had it about 2 months. When I first start the truck I can put it in reverse and move the truck no problem. But when I put it into drive nothing happens right away. I may have to wait 30 secs or so and rev the engine a bit. Once the truck gets warmed up I dont ususally have a problem taking off in drive right away. Is this a sticking valve body issue? I have changed the fluid recently and filter. The fluid is at the correct level and I did not find anything unusual in the fluid when I changed it. Also it shifts fine while driving. Side note I will taking it out this weekend to replace a flex plate (bad teeth) so if I need to dig into the tranny, it would great to fix it while its out! Thanks in advance!!

No, it isn't the valve body. This is a very common problem with the C6. It's old, hard, worn seals. While it's out you need to rebuild the trans to fix it. At a minimum it needs all new seals and gaskets. While it is all apart the small extra cost to replace the frictions is well worth it in my opinion.
